How can knowledge be power

Never limit yourself with what you have, the more you discuss the more you earn. This will only help you to get more and more about different things.

You are always surrounded by a group of people, friends or whatsoever, they may or may not be of same educational background or traditional or work as of you, they will be aware of something that you may not know or you may have something good to share which they think might help and this is possible is you start a conversation and discuss amongst yourself. This will make everyone share what they know and also learn new things at the same time.

Discussing with them will help us learn something new, it may be your own tradition or way of living, the art of living and so on, start now. Earlier days people used to keep discussing when they had time in the evening after their work which made them keep everyone together and help others whenever required, they used to have knowledge of almost everything like work, medicine, life. Social media is also a way to learn new things only if used in a proper way.

You may know something good, share that in social media and make everyone aware of that, this will also help keep people in touch even in this pandemic which is keeping us apart. Sharing knowledge will never make you poor instead it will make you wise, never be selfish to keep things with you or greedy just to learn as much and not to share, sharing is caring.

A person with different options of answering a question will have a better way of living than just following one single rule. You may have one particular way of approach to problems, your friend may have some other way, never criticise others for doing it wrong if they choose to do differently, at least they are trying something new, maybe it will lead to something better. Grab all the knowledge that is available in your footsteps and never leave anything behind.

If you are restricting yourself from learning ahead or not ready to know something new, there is very little chance that you may reach your goal in a short time. A person gets the power to analyze and assert situations by his knowledge.

With knowledge, a man can master the techniques of adjusting and accommodating with changes in the surroundings and life situations. Knowledge helps a man to face adversities and stay balanced. It is a key to removing the darkness of ignorance.

Knowledge helps in enhancing more options in the professional career of the individuals. Knowledge helps in boosting confidence in individuals.

Education and knowledge together can provide better governance to the country. A nation can have true democracy when the citizens of the country are knowledgeable about both social and economic conditions. Education is a key to success and this statement holds true as being knowledgeable can lead to a successful life. You can find more information in our data protection declaration. Education means more than acquiring knowledge. It empowers people to develop personally and become politically active.

That's not always in the interests of rulers, writes DW's editor-in-chief Ute Schaeffer. Knowledge is power - this insight is at least four centuries old, formulated by philosopher Francis Bacon during the Enlightenment.

His statement has lost nothing in terms of relevance and significance: Knowledge is power, and education is the fundamental precondition for political development, democracy and social justice. That can be seen each day in world affairs, but perhaps most poignantly in recent history through the Arab Spring that began in Tunisia with the Jasmine Revolution about a year and a half ago.

It was the educated and the middle class that set protests in motion - particularly the younger among them: year-olds, often students or academics, who felt deceived by the regime and slighted in opportunities. From Rabat to Riad they were the ones that fought - doctors, engineers, journalists - for more freedom, more participation, fair access to the labor market and, in particular, for access to uncensored perspectives.

Their fight is far from over. The first step is securing a foundation for the protestors' goals by way of democratic institutions and voting. Education empowers, and education promotes greater participation. These are facts that Arabic rulers perhaps underestimated. Without the decisive expansion of school and university systems in Arabic countries in the last 20 years, the democratic movement would likely never have come about. The Human Development Report shows just how much educational access improved over this period, and it led to visible success.

This is the fourth level of Knowledge Management. How do we achieve this? Primarily we do it through the conversations that we have with each other.

You happen to visit the mayor of Rotterdam and, during that time, you describe in vivid detail what is going to happen to his town over the next 25 years. The mayor listens to this information placidly. He gives every sign of believing you.

When I ask this question in discussion groups, we always reach the same answer: there is nothing the mayor can be expected to do. Even if he gives your prediction a higher degree of credibility than most of the other information which reached him, he would have neither the courage nor the powers of persuasion to take the far-reaching decision that is required by such a prediction. The future cannot be predicted. But, even if it could, we would not dare to act on the prediction.

Suppose a time traveler returned to the present day from and told us in graphic detail what was to become of the world due to global warming. We already have a pretty good idea of the consequences, but now we know for sure. Do you think it would make any difference whatsoever to our response?

Even with perfect knowledge, even if we could accurately predict the future, more often than not, we do not have the ability to act on that knowledge. Knowledge alone is not power.
